Multimedia company Virgin Media has agreed a sponsorship deal for the season finale of electric motor racing series Formula E.
The inaugural season of Formula E concludes with the London ePrix at London’s Battersea Park on June 27 and 28.
Virgin Media will serve as the local partner at the races, working in collaboration with Formula E on a range of marketing activations and benefitting from track signage.
Virgin Racing, part of the Virgin Group, is one of the 10 Formula E teams competing in the series, with its driver Sam Bird (pictured) one of six challengers for the drivers’ championship.
Alejandro Agag, chief executive of Formula E, said: “Virgin Media is one of the leading and best known multimedia providers so it’s fantastic to be welcoming a brand of this stature to Formula E. It’s also a testament to the strength and global appeal of the series with Virgin Media joining an ever expanding list of international companies wishing to partner with Formula E and show their commitment to sustainability.”
