The Williams Formula One team has struck new sponsorship deals with Dom Pérignon and ShoreTel ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix, where the team will compete in its 600th F1 race.
The British team has announced an agreement with vintage Champagne brand Dom Pérignon, while the City A.M. newspaper has reported an additional multi-million pound deal with telecommunications firm ShoreTel.
The ShoreTel deal confirms the team’s first telecommunications partner since Embratel ended its relationship with Williams last year. ShoreTel will now handle all telecommunications for the Williams team at each F1 race.
The deal is understood to have been struck between team principal Sir Frank Williams and ShoreTel chief executive Peter Blackmore, who worked at computer-maker Compaq during its sponsorship of the team between 2000 and 2005.
Williams F1 will also collaborate with Dom Pérignon to host an exclusive event on the Saturday of the grand prix weekend to mark the 600-race milestone. This will include Champagne tasting and presentations from both Dom Pérignon experts and former Williams world champions.
Terms of the two deals were undisclosed.
