The Virginia Tourism Corporation has entered into a partnership with Richmond 2015, organiser of this year’s UCI Road World Championships cycling event.
Under the deal, VTC will support Richmond 2015 in its preparation for the event, which takes place in the state of Virginia from September 19-27.
VTC will commit to at least 500 30-second advertisements across a number of television channels operated by US media company NBCUniversal. The adverts will promote Richmond 2015, as well as Virginia as a tourist destination.
VTC will also secure editorial broadcast coverage for Virginia-related tourism content during broadcasts of the race in the US.
In addition, the tourist body will receive branding placement throughout the race, including major visibility and branding at the race finish line, time trial start ramps and the awards podium.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said: “The UCI World Championships present a tremendous opportunity for the Commonwealth to drive economic development, promote tourism, and showcase Virginia as a premier travel destination to consumers worldwide.”
