Premier League agrees to give EFL £250m ‘rescue package’

The English Premier League has finalised a £250m (€278m/$337m) rescue package agreement with the English Football League to help lower-league clubs which have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The agreement, which was given final approval at a shareholders' meeting today (Thursday), will provide a £200m package of loans for second-tier Championship clubs and a £50m package of grant payments for clubs in League One and League Two.
