Food manufacturer Mars has announced a multi-year extension to its sponsorship of Nascar and the Joe Gibbs Racing team in the North American stock-car racing series.
Mars will continue to promote its brands including Skittles, M&M’s and Snickers through its team sponsorship, while it continues as the official chocolate of Nascar having held official partner status with the sport’s organising body since 2006.
The M&M’s brand has been involved in Nascar through a variety of team sponsorships since 1990. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch has driven cars displaying a variety of paint jobs promoting Mars’ flagship brands this season.
“Mars is one of the most recognisable brands in Nascar and is among the best-in-class marketers in all of sports,” Nascar chief operating officer Brent Dewar said. “More than two decades after entering Nascar, Mars continues to help make race day more fun and we couldn't be more proud to see the company continue to re-invest in our sport.”
