US sanctioning body the International Motor Sports Association has agreed a multi-year extension to its partnership with tyre manufacturer Continental.
Continental will continue as the official tyre of IMSA through 2018 taking in official supplier and sponsorship rights to the United SportsCar Championship and Prototype (P), Prototype Challenge (PC) and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) classes.
Continental will also continue as entitlement sponsor and exclusive tire supplier to the Sports Car Challenge series.
IMSA chief executive Ed Bennett said: “As we continue to build the Tudor United SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, it is vital to have enthusiastic partners to help us grow the sport. Continental Tire has been, and will continue to be one of our most active and supportive partners.”
As part of the agreement, Continental will continue to receive logo placement on cars in classes where its tyres are used. Continental also will activate at-track via hospitality, signage, event entitlements and other marketing initiatives; along with support for the series off-track through a variety of promotions, marketing events and TV adverts.
