The Gaelic Athletic Association has partnered with communications technology and services company Ericsson in a move designed to enhance the fan experience at Dublin’s Croke Park stadium.
The three-year deal names Ericsson as the official technology partner of the GAA.
Ericsson will provide the GAA with IT services to optimise mobile networks and transform connectivity at Croke Park.
The GAA said that Ericsson has “implemented a framework for innovation" to suit the body’s objectives. The framework is said to complement the stadium’s sustainability and centre on maximising outcomes for the GAA, Croke Park and the local community.
Ericsson will also sponsor Croke Park’s Skyline stadium tour as part of the agreement.
GAA president Aogán Ó Fearghail said: “Connectivity and mobility enable new experiences in an emerging internet of sport. With Ericsson’s expertise, Croke Park will become a stadium of the future and a leader of sports technology.”
