Multinational oil and gas company Shell has extended its technical partnership with the Ducati motorcycle racing team for a further three years.
Under the renewed deal, which runs until 2016, the two parties will collaborate on marketing initiatives and Ducati will benefit from a supply of Shell Advance motorcycle oil for the first-fill of the road bikes at its Borgo Panigale factory.
Shell and Ducati will work together on research and development projects, including the development of bespoke products for the company’s self-titled MotoGP team and its subsidiary outfit, Pramac Racing Team.
Ducati and Shell began working together in the 1999 World Superbike Championship and throughout the course of the partnership the team has won six World Superbike riders’ titles, nine manufacturers’ titles and the MotoGP riders’ and constructors’ world titles in 2007.
