DraftKings extends with NHL’s Kings, partners Staples Center

DraftKings has extended its sponsorship of North American ice hockey franchise Los Angeles Kings, while the fantasy sports games company has also secured a long-term partnership with the NHL team’s Staples Center home.

Los Angeles Kings initially partnered with DraftKings last year and the company will continue to receive television-visible dasherboard signage, social media exposure, VIP hospitality elements as well as marketing support of DraftKings' NHL Fantasy Contests via LA Kings banner ads, emails, newsletters and other platforms.

DraftKings also becomes the exclusive daily fantasy sports partner of the Staples Center under a multi-year deal and will be the naming sponsor of the DraftKings Fantasy Sports Bar & Lounge on the arena’s main concourse. Guests providing their DraftKings ID will receive discounts on food, beverages and have the opportunity to win exclusive prizes.

At all Staples Center events, Draft Kings will receive premium exposure via digital signage within the arena, a concourse presence and customised digital exposure including a social media presence. Hospitality benefits at the arena’s premium ticket locations are also included.

Nick Baker, senior vice-president of AEG Global Partnerships, which operates the Staples Center, said: “From day one of conversations with the DraftKings team we shared the vision and commitment to creating a truly unique and rewarding experience for fans through the DraftKings Fantasy Sports Bar and Lounge.”
