Information technology company Cisco has been named as the ninth official supporter of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Cisco will serve as the official network infrastructure supporter for next year’s event in the Scottish city.
As part of the deal, Cisco will also sponsor the Scottish, English, Northern Irish and Welsh teams at the Games.
Phil Smith, chief executive of Cisco UK and Ireland, said: “I believe Cisco is uniquely positioned to deliver a visitor experience never achieved before at a Commonwealth Games. Earlier this year we announced ‘The Internet of Everything’, Cisco’s approach to connecting people, process, data and all things on the network. Glasgow 2014 presents a perfect opportunity to drive this agenda on a national stage, and we are passionate and excited about being part of another incredible international event.”
Cisco joins Harper Macleod, Search Consultancy, Ernst & Young, Atos, Dell, Toshiba TEC, A.G. Barr and NVT Group on the second tier of Glasgow 2014’s sponsorship structure.
