Organisers have confirmed the sponsorship roster for the X Games Austin extreme sports event, which takes place at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas on June 6-8.
America’s Navy, automotive giant Ford, portable camera manufacturer GoPro and energy drinks brand Monster Energy return as top-tier sponsors for the latest meeting of the series, which is owned and operated by US pay-television broadcaster ESPN. Mexican beer Dos Equis, soft drink brand Dr Pepper and motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson have also signed up as sponsors.
Along with Dos Equis and Dr Pepper, other brands supporting the X Games for the first time are Bing, Cricket Wireless, DuPont Kevlar, Firemans #4, Fram, Gildan, GSD&M, Lance Snacks, OneDrive, Nokia and Torchy’s Tacos. Geico, Loctite, Oakley and Skype return alongside Harley Davidson.
Financial terms for the sponsorship packages, which will feature on-site activations as well as rights to official marks and logos, were not disclosed. As the official automotive sponsor of the event, Ford will provide fans with ride and drive experiences, while both Monster Energy and GoPro will lay on giveaways and athlete signings.
X Games Austin 2014 will showcase more than 200 athletes competing for medals and prize money in the sports of Skateboard, BMX, Rally, Moto X and for the first time, the discipline of Stadium Super Trucks.
