The European arm of payment services company Visa has strengthened its ties with electric motor racing series Formula E by becoming the official title sponsor of its season finale in London.
Battersea Park in the English capital will host the final two races of Formula E’s inaugural campaign on June 27-28.
Earlier this month, Visa signed an agreement to become the official payment services partner of the London races, along with the rounds in Monaco and Berlin.
As part of its association with the London showpiece, Visa will also lend its name to the fastest lap competition, under which the driver clocking the best lap in each race will be presented with a Visa Fastest Lap trophy. UK fans will be able to win prizes by predicting the winning time in a sweepstake. Visa will also benefit from a presence in the eVillage Formula E fan zone in London on the race weekend.
Alejandro Agag, chief executive of Formula E, said: “Like Formula E, Visa is focused on putting fans at the heart of the race and we’re sure their innovative approach will help us produce a fantastic event and a great spectacle for the British public.”
