Fast food chain Red Rooster has entered into a three-year partnership with V8 Supercars, while the Australian motor racing series has reportedly agreed a title sponsorship deal with the Virgin Australia airline.
Red Rooster, an Australian chain, has been named an official partner of the series and will also take on naming rights to the Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint. The event will officially be known as the Red Rooster Sydney SuperSprint.
Red Rooster will partner all V8 Supercars events for the remainder of the 2016 season, as well as the 2017 and 2018 campaigns. Its roast chicken products will be sold on race days, while various driver appearances, consumer promotions and ticket giveaways will also be organised. The partnership coincides with the launch of Red Rooster’s new home delivery service.
This year’s Red Rooster Sydney SuperSprint will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park from August 26-28.
Meanwhile, the Gold Coast Bulletin has reported that Virgin Australia has agreed a deal to become the naming rights sponsor of V8 Supercars in what the newspaper says is a “multi-million dollar deal”.
The Bulletin reported that the deal is expected to be announced towards the end of the month. The newspaper added that it had received confirmation from three team principals that Virgin has signed the multi-year deal.
V8 Supercars chief executive James Warburton last month confirmed that an unnamed company had agreed a five-year deal with championship organisers to become title sponsor of the series. Warburton told the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper in March that the deal would not be announced “for another few months” and would come into effect on July 1.
