Uniqlo to support Special Olympics World Games

Japanese casualwear manufacturer Uniqlo has agreed a deal to become a sponsor of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games.

Under the deal, Uniqlo will provide $450,000 (€402,000) in financial support for this year’s Games, which take place in the Californian city of Los Angeles from July 25 until August 2.

Uniqlo will donate a total of 7,000 t-shirts and polo shirts for athletes and volunteers at this year’s Games.

Local Uniqlo offices will also provide uniforms and training wear for teams representing Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand at the Games.

In addition, over 100 employees from Uniqlo’s parent company Fast Retailing have volunteered to support the 2015 event.

To help promote the sponsorship deal, Uniqlo will run a promotional campaign throughout its network of stores in various countries and regions.
