Tokyo 2020 sponsors ‘preparing’ for Games postponement

Senior executives at three of Tokyo 2020’s sponsors have reportedly stated the summer Olympic Games will likely be postponed due to coronavirus, with executive board member Haruyuki Takahashi stating any decision to delay the event would need to be made before May.

The latest developments come with Tokyo 2020, Japanese authorities and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) continuing to push the official message that the Games will take place as planned from July 24 to August 9.
