Food producer Ajinomoto has been unveiled as an official partner of the Tokyo 2020 summer Olympic Games.
Ajinomoto has secured exclusivity in the second domestic tier of the Tokyo 2020 sponsorship programme in the ‘Cooking Condiments, Dehydrated Soup, Amino Acid Based Granules and Prepared Frozen Foods’ category.
The deal brings the total number of Tokyo 2020 domestic partners to 29, including 14 official partners.
Takaaki Nishii, representative director, president and chief executive, said: “In 2003, Ajinomoto signed a partnership agreement with the Japanese Olympic Committee to launch the Victory Project, which supports the Japanese national Olympic teams with Ajinomoto food products and nutrition. In 2015, we also became an official partner of the Japanese Para-Sports Association to work on providing full-scale support for para-sports.”
