Telecom Italia expands MotoGP partnership

Telecommunications company Telecom Italia has renewed its partnership with the MotoGP World Championship through 2016 to include title sponsorship of the motorcycling series’ San Marino race.

The Misano round of the championship will be named the Gran Premio TIM di San Marino e Della Riviera di Rimini for its next three events.

Similarly, Telecom Italia’s partnership with MotoGP’s commercial rights holder Dorna Sports takes in the Mugello round, which remains the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM, over the same period of time.

Pau Serracanta, managing director of Dorna’s commercial area, said: “Our partnership with Telecom Italia continues to go from strength-to-strength and its TIM brand already has a well-recognised commercial association with the MotoGP World Championship. We believe the TIM brand is a perfect match with the technologically advanced image and content of MotoGP.”
