Japanese media conglomerate Kadokawa has accepted the resignations of chairman Tsuguhiko Kadokawa and vice-chairman Masaki Matsubara with the company embroiled in a corruption scandal over sponsorship deals for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Kadokawa’s move came after it emerged on Tuesday that Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, a former officer and an employee of the company, was arrested on suspicion of bribery regarding the selection of sponsors for Tokyo 2020 and prosecuted by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office.
