No fans in Hokkaido and Fukushima, Tokyo 2020 adds non-profit ‘contributor’

A further two Japanese prefectures have banned spectators from events at the forthcoming summer Olympic Games, with Tokyo 2020 now set to have fans in place at just 3.5 per cent of the originally ticketed sessions.

On Thursday, the initial spectator ban was announced for the prefectures of Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa, following the extension of ‘state of emergency’ pandemic measures in Japan.
