Video game developer EA Sports has extended its partnership with Spanish LaLiga football club Real Madrid.
The length of the new agreement was not disclosed.
EA Sports first teamed up with Real in 2015 and serves as the official video game partner of the club. It will continue as a second-tier global sponsor alongside Movistar, Cepsa, Microsoft, Nivea Men, Audi, Hankook, Mahou, Exness and Hugo Boss.
The announcement of the new deal was marked by a number of Real players attending an EA Sports event in Chicago as part of the club’s US tour.
The event gave players the chance to sample EA Sports’ new Fifa 18 game, which will be released next month and feature Real star Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover.
Last month, Real partnered with Microsoft-owned games console brand Xbox, through which a number of fan-focused Fifa 17 tournaments were organised across the US. Xbox will serve as the club’s official console partner.
