Japanese automotive manufacturer Nissan has signed multi-year partnerships with Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer, along with French lubricants manufacturer Motul and tyre company Michelin, to support its entry into the World Endurance Championship motor racing series.
Tag Heuer will serve as the official watch partner and official timekeeping partner of the team. The drivers will all wear Tag Heuer watches and the partnership will be activated globally by both parties.
Motul is the official lubricants partner for the programme, while Michelin will act as its tyre partner.
The deals were announced as Nissan’s car was unveiled in a commercial aired during the Super Bowl American football showpiece on Sunday.
The new car will contest the LM P1 class of the WEC, the highest category in world sports car racing. Starting at Silverstone, UK on April 12 the 2015 series travels to Spa in Belgium, onto the Le Mans 24 Hours and Germany's Nurburgring, before embarking on races in the US, Japan, China and the Middle East.
