Portuguese canoe and kayak manufacturer Nelo has agreed a deal to formalise its partnership with the International Canoe Federation (ICF).
Although the terms of the long-term deal were not disclosed, it was confirmed that Nelo will support the ICF’s ongoing development programme.
This support will come in the form of financial backing as well as the provision of equipment.
Manuel Alberto Ramos, chief executive of Nelo, said: “As our sport becomes more and more professional, the interaction of all stakeholders should be a priority for our community. With this partnership we are placing ourselves in a better position to compete with other sports in becoming the leading watersport in the world.”
