MotoGP seeks to boost fan engagement through UST Global deal

US information technology company UST Global will sponsor the MotoGP World Championship after reaching an agreement with the motorcycling series’ commercial rights holder, Dorna Sports.

The deal is for three seasons, from 2015 to 2017, and establishes UST Global as the official IT services and solutions provider to MotoGP.

UST Global will work alongside Dorna Sports to develop technological solutions to enhance the MotoGP brand, focusing on its social media properties.

Additionally, UST Global will receive various branding opportunities throughout the MotoGP season via on-screen graphics on the series' global television feed.

Nikki Arora, chief marketing officer at UST Global, said: "Our integrated approach to this partnership will catapult our brand globally, allowing UST to showcase our digital capabilities and core services to our clients through these MotoGP events and, more importantly, be the vehicle to Dorna Sports to foster a better fan engagement through our social media analysis platform.”

Pau Serracanta, managing director of commercial at Dorna Sports, added: “Our hope is that this will create a great deal of commercial value in retaining and obtaining customers, potentially including the MotoGP community of great sponsors and partners.”

The 2015 MotoGP season commences with the Qatar Grand Prix this weekend.
