Japanese sports equipment manufacturer Yonex has extended its sponsorship of the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) Dubai World Superseries Finals end-of-season tournament.
The deal will run for two seasons, from 2016 to 2017.
Yonex will continue to serve as the official equipment and apparel supplier of the event, which takes place each year at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai, UAE.
The company will become an official partner of Shuttle Time Dubai, a regional branch of the BWF’s Shuttle Time community initiative designed to support the global development of badminton. Under this part of the deal, Yonex will provide badminton racquets, shuttlecocks, apparel and training equipment to the scheme, which gives individuals the chance to play badminton indoors at the Dubai Sports World facility during the summer months.
His Excellency Saeed Hareb, secretary general of Dubai Sports Council and chairman of the Dubai World Superseries Finals organising committee, said: “Yonex have been a valuable partner since the inaugural event in 2014 and our continued association will not only contribute to the growth of the tournament, but also help raise its profile among audiences around the world.”
