Typography company Morisawa has signed up as the latest partner for the 2020 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The deal announced today (Thursday) designates the Osaka-headquartered firm as an Official Supporter, the third domestic tier of the Tokyo 2020 sponsorship programme.
The company has been attributed the category ‘font design and development services’. Its addition brings the total number of Tokyo 2020 domestic partners to 57, including 15 Gold Partners, 30 Official Partners, and 12 Official Supporters.
Akihiko Morisawa, president and chief executive of Morisawa, said: “In recent years, we are working on realisation of inclusive society by universal design font and supporting sports for persons with an impairment. We will contribute to the success of the Tokyo 2020 Games through presentation of the design of unique fonts.”
