Japanese agricultural cooperatives federation Zen-Noh has reached a deal to become the title sponsor of the 2015 World Women’s Curling Championship.
The showpiece national team tournament takes place in Sapporo, Japan from March 14-22. Zen-Noh’s sponsorship agreement was brokered by the World Curling Federation’s marketing agent Infront Sports & Media and financial terms were not disclosed.
Zen-Noh is a sponsor of the Japanese Curling Association and it enhanced its ties with the sport in the country by partnering last year’s Pacific-Asia Curling Championships in Karuizawa.
WCF president Kate Caithness said: “Given the commitment that Zen-Noh has made to curling in Japan, it is a natural fit for them to wish to partner with the World Curling Federation for a World Curling Championship being held in Japan. Zen-Noh will gain global recognition as our partner as the World Women’s Championship has a growing worldwide audience. This sponsorship deal is yet another important partnership facilitated by Infront Sports & Media, who continue to drive the communication and marketing value of WCF events.”
Teams from Canada, USA, Switzerland, Russia, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Norway and China will compete alongside the host nation in Sapporo.
