Technology firm ABB has widened its sponsorship of the Formula E electric racing series to include the provision of the charging technology for the third generation of cars in the series.
The company’s electrification team will work with Formula E and motorsport governing body the FIA to develop portable charging units for Gen3 cars which will be ready in time for season 9 of Formula E, from 2022-2023.
