Sunflower oil brand Sunfoil has renewed its title sponsorship of South African cricket team the Dolphins for a further two years.
Effective from the 2014-15 domestic season and containing an option to extend by another 12 months, Sunfoil’s fresh terms with the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union consolidates its established presence across all levels of South African cricket.
The Willowton Group-owned brand is the naming sponsor of the South African national team’s home Test match series, the Sunfoil Series first-class competition and the Development Cricket Programme and Schools Night League at grassroots level. The financial terms of Sunfoil’s renewal with the Durban-based Dolphins were not disclosed.
Sunfoil will look to leverage its association with the Dolphins through expanded stadium and in-store branding, along with an interactive pre-season marketing campaign.
“The Dolphins sponsorship adds great value and has helped the Sunfoil brand stay top of heart and mind with KZN consumers,” Willowton Group sales and marketing director Shoaib Moosa said. “The sponsorship has been part of a continued growth plan for the brand within KZN and has yielded good results. We are looking for further ways that Sunfoil Dolphins fans can benefit from the Sunfoil sponsorship and unlock further value from the brand at the stadium and in-store.”
Alongside South African counterpart Cape Cobras, the Dolphins will compete in the 2014 edition of international club tournament the Champions League T20.
