Singaporean telecommunications company SingTel has signed up as a sponsor of the 2015 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, with its S$15m (€8.8m/$12m) deal representing the biggest financial commitment to date for the country’s staging of the multi-sport event.
The Singapore SEA Games Organising Committee (Singsoc) said the sponsorship covers next-generation multimedia solutions and technological infrastructure of which S$3m will be assigned to services like WiFi, and high speed internet and mobile services.
Richard Seow, chairman of the sponsorship and marketing advisory sub-committee of Singsoc, said: “This timely partnership will not only allow us to capture, interpret and co-create compelling shareable content but will allow the Games to leverage on their comprehensive portfolio of service, that is ever so critical in today’s working environment.”
Earlier this week, supermarket chain NTUC FairPrice and the FairPrice Foundation pledged S$5m to the Games in a separate sponsorship deal.
