Software developer IFS has signed on as a principal partner of Formula One motor racing team Sauber.
The Swedish firm has agreed a one-year deal with the team ahead of the start of the 2016 F1 season next month. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, IFS’s branding will appear on the rear wing end plates of Sauber’s new C35 car. Sauber’s drivers, Sweden’s Marcus Ericsson and Brazil’s Felipe Nasr, will also display the company’s logo on their overalls, helmets and teamwear.
“In this demanding time for Formula One, it is of utmost importance to have strong partners on board,” Monisha Kaltenborn, Sauber team principal, said. “Together with IFS, we are laying an important foundation for the upcoming season as well as for future projects.”
The 2016 Formula One season gets underway in Melbourne, Australia on March 20.
