Sampdoria looks for long-term relationship with new main sponsor

Italian Serie A football club Sampdoria has agreed a short-term shirt sponsorship deal with tour operator Veratour.

The agreement, which grants Veratour branding on the front of Sampdoria’s shirt, commenced with the club’s 2-1 home defeat to Lazio on Saturday.

The agreement is currently scheduled to run through to Sampdoria’s trip to face Palermo on February 26, but president Massimo Ferrero said he hopes the partnership can develop into a long-term relationship.

Sampdoria has been operating without a main sponsor throughout the current 2016-17 season. The deal will also involve events held in association with Veratour.
