AFL Aussie rules football club Collingwood has signed telecommunications company Optus as the major sponsor for its women’s team.
Under the agreement, the Optus branding will feature on the team’s polo shirts, as well as on match signage and the club’s website.
The deal will run for three years, starting in the 2018 season.
John Paitaridis, managing director of Optus Business, said: "The AFLW has been the break-out Australian sport over the last year and has had a significant, positive impact on women’s football in this country. With more teams joining the league it will continue to thrive and Optus is excited to support the Collingwood AFLW team to help the sport grow, while giving current and future players a stronger career path than ever before."
