Australia’s National Rugby League has entered into a partnership with US sports lifestyle brand ’47.
The length of the deal, which the NRL said will “alter the sports licensing landscape in Australia”, was not disclosed.
As part of the deal, ‘47’s headwear and apparel will be on offer to NRL fans, with products to go on sale in stores across Australia and New Zealand in November.
“They bring a combination of authenticity and innovation which we’re confident will deliver our fans fantastic new offerings in 2016 and beyond,” Shaun McMartin, the NRL’s general manager of consumer business, said.
’47 also holds licensing agreements with the NFL American football league, the NBA basketball league, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer and the NHL ice hockey league.
The deal with the NRL marks ‘47’s largest sporting partnership outside of the US.
