US sports equipment supplier Spalding has extended its partnership with the country’s National Collegiate Athletic Association until August 2021.
Spalding will serve as the official supplier of backstop, backboard and goal equipment for the Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships.
The company will also hold licensing rights to use the NCAA logo on its various basketball systems products.
It used the deal to introduce its newest innovation, the all-new Spalding Arena Renegade Portable Backstop at this year’s NCAA Men's Final Four weekend in Phoenix, Arizona, which concludes today (Monday).
“We place high value on our longstanding relationship with Spalding as the company has been a highly-respected brand and anchor in the basketball community for many years,” Keith Martin, NCAA managing director of championships and alliances, said. “Each year we look for ways to make our championships an exciting experience for the student-athletes and fans. We also want to stay in line with new technology and working with Spalding helps us with that goal.”
In addition to the NCAA, Spalding has partnerships in place with North America’s National Basketball Association and Women’s National Basketball Association.
