North American stock-car racing series Nascar has extended its partnership with the automotive solutions division of manufacturing company 3M.
3M Automotive Aftermarket will remain an official partner of the series for the next five years until the end of the 2020 season. 3M will continue to sponsor the showpiece Sprint Cup events during this period.
As part of the agreement, 3M will continue to feature the Nascar logo on its key products. The two parties will also work together with Nascar’s research and development centre to ensure the integration of 3M’s products and solutions within the sport.
Laurie Altman, vice-president and general manager at 3M, said: “Race teams can continue to have access to advanced 3M solutions that save time in car construction, enhance the paint process and make repairs easier during a race weekend.”
3M’s partnership with the Sprint Cup stretches back almost two decades. The Daytona 500, which is set to take place on February 21 next year, will mark the start of the new partnership.
