The World Superbike Championship (WSBK) has confirmed Motul, the French motor oils and industrial lubricants producer, as its new title sponsor.
The five-year partnership begins with the motorcycling series’ 2016 season and will run through until the end of the 2020 campaign.
As part of the deal, next year’s championship will see a brand-new Motul-SBK product range introduced. A new series logo will also be developed.
World Superbike teams will be provided with Motul’s oils and lubricants on race-days, while the company’s products will also be showcased in the race paddock. The agreement was first announced in June, but was officially unveiled and terms disclosed during WSBK’s French round at Magny-Cours over the weekend.
“Motul is the perfect partner with whom to develop our concept of brand experience, having a close proximity to the very DNA of production-based motorcycling,” WSBK commercial and marketing director Marc Saurina said.
