Canadian tech firm Mitel has signed a historic deal as title sponsor of MLB’s first ever London Series.
The Mitel & MLB Present London Series will take place at London Stadium in June 2019, when reigning World Series champions Boston Red Sox will face the New York Yankees.
The two-game series – played on June 29 and 30 – will be the first time the MLB has ever played in Europe.
A follow-up series will also take place in June 2020, though which teams will play is yet to be confirmed.
As part of its two-year deal with MLB, Mitel will get integrated branding throughout both London Series, with in-stadium signage, digital exposure and the Mitel logo visible during replays.
The deal also gives Mitel access to MLB’s digital and broadcast platforms – including MLB Network, MLB.com and the MLB At Bat app – in addition to exposure with UK-based media partners.
Mitel signed its first multi-year partnership with MLB in February this year, adding to its existing partnerships with six MLB franchises, including the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers and San Diego Padres.
This expanded international partnership between Mitel and MLB now embeds the league’s Official Business Technology & Communications Partner into all activation, branding and marketing initiatives surrounding the landmark games in 2019 and 2020.
