Kyocera continues ice hockey affiliation

JAPANESE ELECTRONICS manufacturer Kyocera has reached an agreement to renew its sponsorship of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championship until 2017.

The company, which also develops ceramics, negotiated the deal with Infront Sports & Media, the exclusive marketing partner for the annual Ice Hockey World Championship.

In addition to this year’s event, Kyocera will also act as Official Sponsor as well as Printing and Copying Partner for all tournaments from 2014 to 2017.

The partnership strengthens Kyocera’s affiliation with international ice hockey having served as an Official Sponsor of the event for the past three seasons.

“An extension ahead of time – such as that with Kyocera – is always a great sign of the level of impact achieved through sponsorship, which gained an additional boost through the record cumulative TV audience of over 900 million,” said Infront’s executive director of winter sport, Bruno Marty.

Kyocera is the current shirt sponsor of Japanese J-League football side Kyoto Sanga, it holds stadium naming rights for Dutch Eredivisie football team ABO Den Haag, and its insignia appears on the back of Spanish La Liga side Atlético Madrid’s shirts.
