Energy company JX Nippon has signed up as a gold partner of the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
The deal starts immediately and will run until the end of 2020.
JX Nippon has secured exclusivity in Tokyo 2020’s top-tier oil, gas and electricity supply services category and will also support the Japanese national Olympic and Paralympic teams.
JX Nippon has expanded its presence in sport in recent months. Last June, JX became an official sponsor of Japan’s national women’s basketball team.
The company is a major provider of hydrogen energy and expects the 2020 Games to be a catalyst for the spread of hydrogen energy.
