Swiss watch brand Hublot has agreed its first partnership with an NFL American football team by announcing a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Hublot will collaborate with the Cowboys to create three luxury timepieces that reflect the team’s status in American sports. Each timepiece will utilise the team’s famous silver and blue colours, as well as the iconic star at five o’clock – for five Super Bowl wins.
Hublot has previously signed deals with NBA basketball franchises the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers, but the Cowboys partnership is the company’s first entry into the NFL market.
Hublot chief executive Ricardo Guadalupe said: “At Hublot, the specific philosophy is always to be either unique, either the first or different in everything that we do. We said, ‘we need a (NFL) partnership, we need to go further here in this country,’ and of course, on top of the list came the Dallas Cowboys.”
In other news, the Cowboys have struck a partnership with Columbia Sportswear which will extend through early 2018.
The apparel licensing partnership will feature co-branded sportswear, outerwear and accessories for men, women and youth, with product available to the public starting in late spring 2015.
The Cowboys will sell co-branded product through wholesale channels including official NFL retail stores. Additionally, products will be available through Columbia’s US retail, outlet and online stores. The Cowboys are consistently the NFL’s top team in terms of licensed product sales and are the only franchise with exclusive rights to distribute their own merchandise.
“This first-of-its-kind partnership between the premier NFL franchise and a global leader in outdoor apparel is a real win for consumers,” Joe Boyle, vice-president of apparel merchandising at Columbia, said. “The Dallas Cowboys are a world-class organisation with one of the strongest fan bases of any NFL team. This collaboration will allow those fans to wear their favourite outdoor apparel brand while supporting their favourite team.”
