Hisense secures extended Australian Open return

Chinese television and refrigeration manufacturer Hisense has extended its sponsorship agreements relating to the Australian Open tennis tournament by three years.

Hisense will continue as the naming partner of Melbourne Park’s Hisense Arena – a multi-purpose venue that has hosted matches at tennis’ first grand slam of the year since 2001 – and it has also renewed terms with Tennis Australia to remain as the Australian Open’s official television and refrigeration supplier.

Both deals run through 2017 and financial terms were not disclosed.

Hisense initially agreed to become an official sponsor of the Australian Open and its associated series of tournaments in Brisbane and Sydney in November last year.
