Along with backing the first grand slam on the tennis calendar in Melbourne from 2014, Hisense also gains an association with the Brisbane International and Apia International Sydney tournaments under the deal, the specific terms of which were undisclosed.
Hisense will collaborate with the Australian Open’s other sponsors to organise a family fun activation area at the event’s Grand Slam Oval entertainment precinct, while a number of prize giveaways will take place through the company’s Facebook page in the lead up to the tournament.
The other brands listed on the Australian Open’s commercial roster as official sponsors are sports drinks company Powerade, beer manufacturer Heineken, Mount Franklin spring water, tennis and sports equipment specialists Wilson and tyre brand Maxxis.
