The Italian arm of professional services company Deloitte has added domestic sponsorship rights to the 2026 Winter Games in Milan-Cortina to its Olympic global partner deal.

The four-year contract follows the 10-year ‘TOP partnership’, signed in April, between Deloitte Global and the International Olympic Committee, which will run until 2032 and covers five editions of the Games, both summer and winter.

Under the new deal, Deloitte Italia will support the organisers in the management of the Winter Games, in a move highlighting the company’s widespread presence in the country.

Fabio Pompei, administrative delegate for Deloitte Italia, said: “As a Partner for professional services, Deloitte Italia will support the Foundation Milan-Cortina 2026 in the four-year path that will lead our country to host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, making available their skills professional to successfully face emerging challenges in the fields: Games strategy and operations, marketing and commercial solutions and Games innovation.

“Milano-Cortina 2026 will strengthen the growth and development of our country, consolidating its the image at an international level. For these reasons we have chosen to put our skills at the service of such a complex project, which embodies those universal values of which today more than ever we need: excellence, friendship and respect.”

Deloitte is the third domestic sponsor to sign up with the local organisers after the supermarket chain Esselunga and human resources company Randstad Italia

Last month, it was reported that the budget for the Games was set to rise to more than €2bn ($2bn) – significantly higher than the initial €1.58bn budget outlined by organisers. Sponsorship is targeted to contribute about €500m to the total budget based on three domestic tiers.
