Usoc renews deal with AT&T until Rio 2016

THE UNITED STATES OLYMPIC COMMITTEE (Usoc) has renewed its sponsorship agreement with multinational telecommunications company AT&T.

Under the deal, AT&T will remain the Official Communications Sponsor of the US Olympic and Paralympic teams until the 2016 Games in Rio, continuing a partnership that began in 1984.

As well as providing technological products, services and support to Usoc, AT&T also sponsor United States Figure Skating and USA Gymnastics, the respective national sporting governing bodies.

“AT&T helps Usoc represent our country at the highest levels, and we are happy to continue this great relationship,” said Mark Wright, vice president of media services and sponsorships at AT&T.

“AT&T has a proud history of supporting US Olympic and Paralympic athletes and has truly helped them to achieve their goals of competing and succeeding on the biggest stage in sport,” said Lisa Baird, Usoc chief marketing officer.

Usoc’s current domestic sponsors include sportswear manufacturer Nike, car maker BMW, corporate consultants Deloitte, petrol company BP and beer brand Budweiser, among others.
