US telecommunications company CenturyLink has strengthened its ties with the Minnesota Twins by becoming the naming partner of the Major League Baseball team’s training facility.
Under the deal, the Twins’ Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers will be renamed CenturyLink Sports Complex.
CenturyLink is already the official communications provider for the Twins and its Target Field home ballpark.
The training facility is currently undergoing a series of renovations totalling $48.5m (€37.8m), the first part of which was completed for spring training 2014.
The second phase will be completed next spring, after which the complex will open under its new name. CenturyLink will install a fully converged network and several internet upgrades.
Terms of the new partnership were not disclosed.
