Central sponsors recommit to MotoGP

MOTOGP RENEWED two sponsorship deals this week with insurance brand Generali and tools company Stanley Black & Decker.

Italian company Generali has expanded its partnership with the world’s premier motorcycle racing series to become a tier-one Official Sponsor of MotoGP.

Under terms of the deal, Generali will provide insurance to Dorna Sports, the rights owner of MotoGP, throughout 2013.

Generali will also upgrade its brand exposure at races with a significant presence at 10 of the 18 grands prix.

The company will also continue to title sponsor the last race of the MotoGP season in Valencia.

Generali joins alcohol brand Aperol, carmaker BMW, tyre manufacturer Bridgestone and watchmaker Tissot in the Official Sponsor category.

Dorna Sports has also renewed its deal with Stanley Black and Decker in the second-tier MotoGP Supplier category for a further two years.

As part of the agreement, Dewalt will continue as the Official Power Tool Supplier and Stanley as the Official Tool Supplier until the end of 2014.

“The exposure this partnership delivers is a fantastic platform to promote our core brands,” said Scott Bannell, vice president corporate brand management at Stanley Black & Decker.

“This year the program delivers increased brand visibility through new digital activity as well as a live event program featuring the Stanley Black & Decker Tool Village, putting our tools and equipment into the hands of the live race audience.

“MotoGP is a growing global sport and year on year allows us to deliver increased global brand awareness.”
