Brazilian mining firm CBMM has signed its third race title partnership with the FIA Formula E Championship.
Under the deal, CBMM will become the race title partner for the Mexico E-Prix in February next year, where the race will be known as the CBMM Niobium Mexico City E-Prix, advertising the firm’s niobium use.
CBMM held the race title partner rights to the Punta del Este E-Prix and Rome E-Prix in the 2017-18 season, and will now branch out into new key territories over the next three seasons.
Alejandro Agag, founder and chief executive of Formula E, said: “I’m delighted to have CBMM partnering with the ABB FIA Formula E Championship for even more races in season five and beyond.
“They’re a global advocate for the use of niobium in a range of products, and using the research and development platform of the electric street racing series is a great way to deliver our shared vision of creating cleaner technologies for the future.”
Niobium technology is widely used across the automotive sector, including in batteries, drivetrains, chassis, wheels and other components.
