Some Indian Premier League cricket teams are reported to be unhappy about an order from the Board of Control for Cricket in India barring them from agreeing sponsorship deals with cryptocurrency exchanges.
Newspaper the Economic Times reported that the BCCI sent a directive to all IPL team owners, as well as the league's global media rights owner Star India, requiring them to hold off on crypto deals until the sector is properly regulated in India. India's Parliament is to consider a bill regulating the industry during its upcoming winter session. As a result, the BCCI is "erring on the side of caution", the ET said.
