The Netball Australia national governing body has agreed a sponsorship deal with Aussie Apples.
The brand, which is managed by Horticulture Innovation Australia on behalf of the country’s apple-growers, has penned a three-year deal with the organisation. The agreement will run until 2020 and will be worth A$600,000 (€435,000/$461,000).
Aussie Apples will benefit from brand exposure at international and national netball games as part of the agreement. The partnership also includes access to Netball Australia’s prime-time, free-to-air television broadcast, player promotion and the development of a grassroots healthy eating program, ‘Fresh Step’.
In addition, under the deal, said to be the first of its kind for the industry, Aussie Apples will deliver apples to netball carnivals and professional games across Australia throughout the 2017 season.
“Our sponsorship of Netball Australia presents huge opportunities for exposure and penetration for the Australian apple industry,” David Moore, marketing general manager at Horticulture Innovation Australia, said.
“Apples are the ultimate healthy snack and we’re excited to work closely with Netball Australia to develop the Fresh Step healthy eating program, which will be rolled out through the 1.2 million Australians who play netball.”
