Netball Australia has announced Wendy Archer as its new chair, with Marina Go stepping down from the role in what the governing body describes as a “planned transition” amid growing unease over its new sponsorship deal with mining and agricultural company Hancock Prospecting.

Netball Australia last month revealed that Hancock had joined as high performance programme partner of the national team, the Diamonds, until the end of 2025. While energy company Origin remains the Diamonds’ naming rights partner, Hancock was due to debut on the team’s uniforms in the ongoing Constellation Cup series against New Zealand, which commenced on October 12.
